Your Pipeline is the foundation. It’s what brings in high-profit jobs from ideal customers—consistently. Without it, you can’t invest in better people or systems.
If you control your pipeline, you control your future.
Build on People and Operations
Once you have a steady flow of jobs:
- You can hire and train the right team—skilled roofers, a sales team, an HR manager.
- You can build out your operations—tools, trucks, systems, and processes that deliver quality work, on time, every time.
But the order matters.

Think of your business like a pyramid:
- Pipeline (Foundation)
- People (Middle Layer)
- Operations (Top Layer)
Get the order wrong, and the whole thing collapses.
- Buy trucks before you have jobs? You’ll go broke.
- Hire an HR manager before you have demand? She won’t have anyone to hire.
Always start with the pipeline.
