The $5 Million Goal

98% of roofing companies never hit $5 million in revenue.

Why? Because building to that level — with the PEOPLE and OPERATION it takes — feels overwhelming.

And it is… if you try to do it all at once.

But there’s a better way:

Start by setting a wild and crazy goal: a $5 million sales pipeline — one that consistently generates high-profit jobs.

You don’t need to service $5M right away. If you’re doing $1M now, aim for a pipeline that can deliver $3M. Then choose the best $2M worth of jobs and scale up from there.

Think of it like a boa constrictor swallowing a deer — you can do the impossible if you move methodically:

  • Build a pipeline bigger than your current capacity
  • Say “no” to low-profit work
  • Prioritize specialty and high-margin jobs
  • Gradually hire and strengthen your operation

 

What Happens at $5M?

At $5M, your business evolves:

It’s no longer a hustle. It’s a scalable, professional, operation.

You can begin laying the foundation earlier — I hired an ops manager just under $2M and a CEO approaching $3M. By $5M, the pirate ship era is over, and the battle ship era has begun. You’re running a real organization.

You can still be the captain — or step back and pursue something new. Either way, at $5M, you’ve built a FREEDOM ORGANIZATION.

Here’s what changes:
